We are the layers

Since forming in September 2006 the Layers have penned a set of acclaimed original songs, and performed them across the UK, The Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and, in the summer of 2008, in New York's world-famous Kenny's Castaways, to a fantastic reception.

'Belly Full of Sunshine', the first Layers Album, was launched in December of 2009 and is now available to download. We're eager to get out and gig those songs so if you have a venue - get in touch.

Often have we been asked where the name comes from - are we complex, multi-layered individuals, full of depth and meaning? Is our music like a digital image, an intricate tapestry of carefully constructed parts? Are we just great with the ladies? Do we identify closely with hens? Did we put a bunch of names into a hat? You'll have to make up your own mind.
